UT Tower.
At the center of the University of Texas at Austin Campus there is an amazing buiding called "The Main Building" or 'The Tower". It is the most recognizable symbols of the University of Texas and Austin city. The tower has 94 metters and 27 floors. It started to be built in 1934 and it was completed in 1937. It is in the middle of the most ancient buldings. In front of The Tower happens big events. Now, there are administrative offices, a life sciences library and a library with significant editions of English Romanticists. Curious and bad happenings marked The Tower history. In 1966 an architectural engineering student at the University, went up the observation deck of the tower and using a rifle and various other weapons killed 14 people. And in 1974 happened nine suicide jumps from The tower's observation deck. Before this tower, there was another, it was an old Victorian-Gothic building and it was built in 1882. But it was razed in 1934, due to it needs for new library space. There is a sign in front of the building with the message " To transform lives for the benefit of society"
